DO THIS, NOT THAT! SOCIAL MEDIA TIPS FOR YOUR SMALL BUSINESS ON NYE

Share:

2020 is just around the corner, believe it or not. It’s true, time flies when you’re having fun and it has been a fun year. Since we are only 4 days away from New Year’s Eve, we thought it would be a good time to share our favorite dos and don’ts to keep in mind when you go to post to your business’s social media accounts. It is the most Facebook-posted, Instagrammed, Tweeted night of the entire year after all.

Do this:

Create a theme. Perhaps there’s an event your business will be at on December 31st or maybe you’re having a party. Perfect. Create a theme for your social media posting based on this. We like this list, lots of good options! The hope is that by word of mouth, this should bring people back to your site and ignite more conversations.

Make your subject lines stand out. This is your first impression on the day for a lot of your business. Stand out in inboxes with subject lines that promote last minute sales, a special offer or use it to simply wish your audience a Happy New Year. Need extra help with this? Here ya go!

Genuinely wish your customers/business partners/clients/fans/etc. a Happy New Year. The more authentic the post, the better. Stock photos can be great, but they do have a time and a place. This is a great way to let them know what you are hoping for them in the year ahead.

Don’t do this:

Don’t just post to one of your accounts. Coordinate your posts across all of your social media accounts including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, Tumblr, etc. You have to spread the wealth! If you need some organizational tips for your social media accounts, check this out.

Don’t post photos of you and your family/friends if you have been enjoying too many adult beverages. Obviously, this does not send a professional vibe and people will have a sour impression of you. It’s not worth it.

Don’t forget to mention what your business has in store for 2019. This is a great time to hint at new products & services, updated hours, price changes, etc. People like to be in the know, it helps them choose your business in the new year.

Happy New Year from all of us at KD Kanopy! We are looking forward to helping you put your business in front of people in 2020.
