Happy spring! Although some of us will be enjoying fake spring with some winter mixed in for the next bit, Sunday marked(s) the first official day of spring 2022. Spring is that special time of year when we get to dust off the bikes that have been in storage, start thinking about gardens and most importantly, fill our calendars with outside events for our businesses. Are you and your company ready for time outside? Our canopys and other branding tools are made to last both indoor or out. Depending which setting you’re in most often, the material you choose will also be an important factor in your decision.

With spring, comes some unpredictable weather. Weather seems to be becoming less predictable over time and we want you to feel confident with your canopy and/or branding tools before you set up for the day. Obviously, it’s best to avoid being outside (if you can) if there’s a big spring snow in the forecast. But usually, this time of year, we deal more with rain and wind (and sunshine too!).

All of our canopy tops are water-resistant thanks to a finish we add to the fabric we use.  This means they can tolerate a light spring rain. The water will bead up and drizzle off the tent top, leaving what you have on display underneath, more protected. Anything more than a light rain may cause trouble for your canopy top. You never know when a torrential downpour may hit, but if it does, your canopy top will be threatened with a great deal of water weight. Your canopy frame will not appreciate this extra weight and the integrity of it will be compromised. It may hold the water weight, but you will no longer have the canopy you once did.

Also be mindful of the fabric your tent and/or branding tools is made from.  Mesh is a great option to go with if you plan to use your custom KD creation outside. Because of the way mesh is constructed, it lets the wind pass through. Your mind will be put to ease if it becomes a windier day. Instead of spending time making sure your canopy doesn’t rip, you’ll get to enjoy time networking or talking to future customers. Mesh is also lightweight making it easier to transport and another bonus, it lets light through.

When it comes to spending time outside with your branding tools (or without), it’s important to keep an eye on the skies. If it seems like a big rain is on its way in, it’s best to pack up your canopy. We want you to get as much time as possible with your tent and this will help it last longer. We are always happy to help answer questions you may have regarding your canopy, fabric options, or intentions to use it.
