Keep your Custom Canopy Tents in Top Condition with These Tips for Wet Weather

Share:

April showers bring May flowers, but they can also bring some challenging spring storms! Consider these ways to keep your tent safe when the rain clouds roll in.

The longer days, the blooming flowers, the warming temperatures, there’s a lot to love about spring! While your schedule may start filling up with outdoor activities and more opportunities to get your branded materials in front of an audience, ensuring your custom canopy tent stays in top condition is more important than ever. Keep these tips in mind as we enter the spring season to share your message while effectively maintaining your custom canopy tent.

Know the Difference: Water Resistant… Not Waterproof!

Rain is an inevitable part of most spring seasons, and while our custom tent fabrics are water-resistant, they are not waterproof! This means that in heavy, consistent rain, water can seep through the seams. What does this mean for you and your tent when rain is in the forecast? Your tent is well prepared to handle a little sprinkle (to keep both you and your products dry!) but in case of heavy rain, it’s time to take your canopy down.

Water pooling on the roof of any of our high-end branded canopy tents can cause damage to the fabric, and leaks within the seams aren’t benefiting anyone. Fortunately, apart from the unforeseen torrential downpour, your KD Kanopy tent will be prepared to keep you dry until the storm rolls on.

Feeling Breezy? Stake it Down!

Picture this: you just finished setting up your tent, and the customers are already coming in to check out your latest products (or fun new brand applications.) You can’t wait to share brand updates with those in line. But before you go into salesperson mode, make sure you stake your tent down, especially during the windy and stormy spring months!

We provide spikes to stake your tent down, but you can also purchase easy-to-use bags that fill with water or sand to provide an extra level of grounding and protection for your custom canopy tent. And, as always, don’t leave your tent unattended for any significant length of time! Whether it is rain showers or gusty winds, being nearby can save your tent (and your products) from being lost to the elements.

Give Your Tent Some TLC Before Storing!

After a successful day at your farmer’s market, music festival, or sporting event, take time to show your tent some love and affection before packing it away for the next event. Before placing your custom canopy tent into storage, make sure the fabric is completely dry and clean. (Don’t worry, our fabric is ultra easy to clean with a quick wipe of a dry cloth or towel!) Maintaining a dry, clean tent before storage prevents mold and mildew, and will keep your tent working well for years to come.

Additionally, ensuring your custom canopy tent is stored in a safe area will ensure you get the longest life out of your product. That means making sure the basement, garage, or storage area where you are keeping your tent is rodent-free, and not subject to any leaks or water damage. The result? Personalized branding products that will serve you (and your company or organization) for years to come.
