Things to Consider When Planning A Company Picnic

Share:

Company picnics are a traditional way for businesses to express their appreciation of their employees’ ongoing hard work and also a great way to strengthen team cohesion and to help employees get to know each other better.

To ensure success, your next company picnic should be planned in a careful and tactful way – here are some aspects to consider:

  • Who to invite – you should invite all your employees, of course, that is obvious, but you should decide whether you want to invite their families as well. If you decide to invite the spouses or significant others of your staff members, be prepared that the number of guests will roughly double, so you will need to choose the venue and the catering with that in mind;
  • Choosing the time – when you pick the time, pay attention to employee work hours, vacation schedules and the weather forecast, too. Consider scheduling the event for the weekend, Saturday around lunchtime is usually a good time to start;
  • Plan for protection from rain or the hot sun. Custom event tents, along with company branded table covers, balloons, hanging lanterns, and flowers can add pizazz to the festivities.
  • Plan some entertainment – hiring a balloon artist, a clown, a magician or a stand-up comedian are great ways to set the right atmosphere. If your team is in for playing games, you can also plan some fun activities, such as funny contests.
