KD Kanopy Cares For Kids

Helping Kids in Colorado with Our Annual Charity Golf Tournament

KD Kanopy has a long-standing tradition of giving back to the community. Over the years, our KD Kanopy Cares golf tournament has benefited a number of worthy non-profit organizations like Kids in Crisis, the Denver Family Crisis Center, and 4 Paws for Ability. Our 2014 tourney raised over $13,000 to help provide wheelchairs to children all across Colorado with the help of Kids Mobility Network.

This year, our 2015 KD Cares tournament proceeds will again benefit Colorado children in need through Kids Mobility Network — a resource for families of children with disabilities. The organization serves as an alternative to traditional insurance for under-insured or uninsured families, helping them to acquire Durable Medical Equipment (DME) that provides their children with greater safety, mobility, and independence.

Kids Mobility Network does not require families to purchase DME at its market value, but instead provides the equipment to appropriate recipients for a minimal donation. The benefit to the community is less about the equipment and more about the benefit that the children receive by using the equipment. While this very expensive equipment is visible and tangible, the functionality that the equipment provides is immeasurable.

Kids Mobility Network provided its first piece of DME to a child in March of 2006. Since that time, the Organization has provided hundreds of pieces of DME to children across Colorado and beyond. The value of equipment provided by Kids Mobility Network exceeds $3,000,000 in community benefit.
