Catering a Special Event – Things to Consider

Share:

With a catered event, there are many factors that influence success – here are the most important ones:

  • The venue and the guests – the place where the event will take place needs to be suitable for the type of the event as well as for the guests. Choosing an elegant restaurant for the birthday of someone whose friends love to party wildly or choosing a sleek, contemporary venue to celebrate grandma are just some examples of improperly selected event venues;
  • Selecting the right food and beverages – the type of event and the preferences of the guests will determine the choice of food, too. If most of the guests are business people who attend lots of conferences, they are surely tired of mediocre food and would appreciate either something really rustic or something really fancy. Similarly, if most of the guests are people who value traditions, serving them fancy fine dining dishes is surely not a good idea. If your event will be attended by a mixed group, the best solution is to serve alternative menus;
  • The decoration – the decorations you choose for the event should be in harmony with the style and the preferences of the guests, too. Consider budgeting for festive custom table covers or, if your venue is outside, a custom event tent.
