Summer is the period when the sports season is in full swing, with lots of activities for kids. To allow kids to make the most of great summer weather, parents need to be prepared to protect them – here are some must-have items for mothers and fathers and things to put in your child’s backpack:

  • Foods and beverages for proper hydration – when temperatures rise, proper hydration is essential. Well-sealing, sturdy bottles filled with water or tea are essential items in any survival kit and so are the foods that have a high water content, such as cucumbers;
  • Solar protection – a sunscreen product with an SPF of 30 or higher is also essential, just like a soft hat or cap to prevent sunstroke; Consider purchasing an inexpensive pop up tent with logo of the youth sports team for added protection during long hot tournament days.
  • Comfortable clothes – your kid’s clothes should be made from well-ventilating, natural materials, such as cotton and they need shoes that will not cause blisters;
  • Dental floss – keeping teeth clean is important during summer activities, but dental floss can do more than just remove food residues. Floss is packaged in boxes that do not take up much space, it is thin, but strong, great for tying things as well as for hanging clothes to dry;
  • An insect repellent – these creams or sprays are important for preventing insect bites.
